Closet Refresh

A little time decluttering a closet can go a long way. I regularly revisit my storage spaces to evaluate what I am or am not using, what I do and do not really enjoy, and what I would or would not miss if I got rid of it. Those items I don’t want to keep usually go into one of two bags: thrift store or consignment shop.

I then set up a time to go, stoping at the consignment shop first, then taking whatever they wouldn’t accept with me to the thrift store for donation.

I love the feeling of my space after I’ve pruned it of unloved, unused items. What’s left is always closer to my desired ideal.

My personal closet goal is being able to look into my closet and love everything I see. I want to truly enjoy and use each item.

I also find it so helpful to regularly reassess how I am using my spaces. If piles begin to build up in certain zones, I consider, do I need a basket there? Or hooks nearby? Can I pack away some of those less used items? It’s good to consider how well systems are working and to tweak them if necessary.

*I’ll try to do better with before photos. The idealist in me sometimes just jumps into reorganizing before I capture the original state.
